Secret DIY in the Woods of Germany

The best way not get your DIY project busted by the government is not to do it in the middle of the city under a bridge, but to do it in the middle of the woods near a small town, and don’t tell anyone where it is…

Mooscrete: “The Barn” – Germany

10 years ago, old german vert ramp pro Bernt Jahnel moved in to a 250 year old farm house in the middle of the small village of Moos. He built a big miniramp in the barn and, not long after, a big vert ramp out in the forest. But there weren’t many sessions in the barn the last years he lived there. We had planned a mini-ramp session at the Lohse Ramp, but Germany’s sketchy summer time weather canceled that plan with intermittent rain throughout the day. Our only option was to hit up the DIY spot…

Under the Bridge: Köln, Germany (building): PHASE II & III

Under the bridge in Köln, Germany, a DIY skate spot had been started a few years ago, and then lay stagnant. With some motivation from the Köln skaters, Phase II was underway, with a pump bump and quarter pipe. Money was gathered for bags of concrete, tools were purchased, trowels were customized, and even a concrete truck made a delivery of fresh ‘crete.
