Teahupoo, Tahiti – Spring 2011

Confusion water cameraman Sean Wood checks in from the road, risking his life just to get you this epic footage from the razor sharp coral reef of Tahiti.

“Almost died today filmin…… was hangin too far inside behind the boats and skiis to get the tow guys coming out of the barrell. Committed to the veiwfinder and didnt realize the whole reef was closing out…. swam under 3 15 footers breaking in knee deep water…. light as a feather, stiff as a board! only a bloody nose from the pressure.”

Hossegor, France: Beach break surf action

After sleeping in the rental car on the beach after the Pirate Ship Beers & Brats party, I awoke freezing bloody cold in the parking lot of world renowned surf spot HOSSEGOR. There happened to be a world championship surf contest underway just up the beach from where we were parked. After a coffee and Pain au Chocolate, we rolled up through the dunes and checked out some of the best competitive surfers in the world surfing one of the best beach breaks. The waves weren’t ALL TIME, it really gets good at Hossegor, but good enough for a short video clip and a few photos… then we packed up and headed away from the scene, to rural Basque Country.

Confusion Magazine: Trailer for “FUSION”

We made this trailer last year to premier at the opening of Wasted Box Skateshop in Cologne, Germany. The concept is to combine both skateboarding and surfing in one video, thus the FUSION, or blending of the two activities, into one video. We are no longer going to combine the skateboarding and surfing in one section, but instead have two separate sections for the viewing pleasure of those who are not interested in surfing, which will allow us to have a complete surf section after the full length skate section.

Jason Jessee: “I skateboard but I’m an artist.” Automodown warehouse. Watsonville, California. (2004-2005)

Jason Jessee is a legend. He is also a living enigma, which is defined as a “riddle generally expressed in metaphorical or allegorical language that requires ingenuity and careful thinking to discover its solution.” He is a natural born actor, who plays himself in every role he’s ever been in. He is probably best known for his frontside ollie, which many agree was the best skateboarding has ever seen.

Best of Both III – Wooden Combi bowl – August, 2010. Düsseldorf, Germany

Best of Both III took place in Düsseldorf, Germany late August, 2010 at the newly built Combi bowl, which Dietsches created and added a second steeper, tighter section onto the old Factory Bowl complete with full pool coping, in contrast to the steel coping of the older Factory Bowl. The new bowl features a loveseat and an over vert cradle with a spine connecting the two bowls together.

Hirschgarten Skatepark review – Munich, Germany

Late last year, another big concrete park was finished in Germany – more precisely in Hirschgarten (Munich). The pictures of the building process looked promising so we, a crew from guys around Tyrol (Austria), decided to check out the new concrete monster.
