Confusion headed up to Berlin for the Shitfootmongoland independent, skater-owned tradeshow and ended up hanging with the Warriors and the Jean Jaques possee from Belgium at the Betonhausen DIY outdoor concrete bowl…
Czech crew Lógr released their audiovisual manifesto. It lasts almost 30 minutes, they were filming over a year in different locations around Europe. You can see among other locations, Malmö, Berlin, Prague and Zurich.
“This is a short clip that shows the little steep backyard ramp “Betonhausen” in Berlin and also the new Bowl in Schwerin Lankow.
The Minus crew did a great job in the renovation of the skate park and there is more space left to recreate the area. The Lankow Locals build their own speed bumps, quarters and other totally funky obstacles…” – Jubbi
Confusion Magazine – Issue #4 – release date end of Janauary, 2012. Featuring Adam Benson, Matt Grabowski, Balder Lehmann, Ferit Batir, Phil Jackson and Sadam Yoshizawa.
The first phase of the project begins with the construction of the focal piece: a triangular skateboard ramp, which will be extracted from its ‘natural’ environment and modified to serve a different purpose than originally intended. It will be a symbol of harmony within the collective, and at the same time a symbol of disharmony within today’s society. It is representative of the main topic of the exhibition and will therefore be the central point of the happenings.Around this piece of carpentry, the collective will create an atmosphere that opposes a dystopian, exaggerated reality with a surreal dreamlike utopia. Various forms of contemporary art, such as painting, videography, photography, sculpture, installation, etc., will be used to reach this goal.
A short view on the Mellowpark bowl project in Berlin, Germany. With helping hands of the locals the bowl was finished in the spring of 2011.
The session at the brand new D.I.Y spot at the Mellowpark in Berlin was amazing. Lot’s of riders from all ages and all over Europe came together to skate this epic place. Not even a heavy dump could stop the session. Free drinks and BBQ made the day perfect! Thanks to Lenni, Jan and all the other locals that put so much effort, love and time into this outstanding project! – Asti
Last weekend I was up in Berlin and I went to check out the US Bombs at this punk rock hall in Kreuzberg called FESTSAAL. Everyone else flaked out on going with me (too tired, too hung over) so I went alone and damn glad I went. Front row, sick show and a few cheap 80 cent half liter beers with some Berlin Punks out front in the cold. Duane Peters was in fine form, rockin’ out, dancing, and pounding Red Bulls. They even played one of my favs for the encore, “Ballad of Sid”. I took the set list for a souvenir and these photos for your enjoyment, since you obviously missed the show.
Daniel Schmid and Sven Daubenfeld built their own skate spot in Berlin. The ground was too sandy, the wood wasn’t good enough to get enough speed. Two slams, one make. They agreed they efforts were a failure and moved on to the next spot. Better luck next time dudes…
