1st Floor indoor DIY – Lublin, Poland

1st Floor is the biggest concrete indoor DIY spot in Poland and probably in whole Europe (*see editors note at bottom). It is located in Lublin, a city in the eastern part of Poland. The history of 1st Floor started in the autumn of 2010, when local skaters cleaned up part of an abandoned building, in order to have a place to skate in the winter time. Jacek Harasimiuk, a local skater, put a bunch of photos from that day on his blog.

D.I.Y. Corner – Switzerland

At first I just planned to build a small curb, but after a short reflection I had the idea to try to do a small corner (80 cm high). The place in front of the house was made with large dark pavement, so i thought that a nice curve made with the same kind of pavement could become a pretty nice spot.

Ceramica DIY – Portugal

“We live in a small country, we crossed through nother economic crisis, our politicians do not know how to spend our money. We thought the following: let us take it that nobody wants to do what we want. In Leiria there are no shortage of places to skate. We have a skatepark, a beautiful square full of marble curbs, a half dozen street spots and a mini ramp in the woods. But Ceramica is where we feel good. Far from everything and everyone, here we have the freedom and tranquility for a few beers, barbecues , creating concrete ramps without scooters, rollers and bmxers to cross our path. Do it yourself, fuck the rest.

Wörgl DIY – Wörgl, Austria

Without any experience how to work with concrete we started building the first section of the park seven years ago. Since this time we somehow got addicted and whenever we have a bit of money collected we come back to the construction site to build another part! Wörgl Skatepark became one of the best skate spots in Austria and after all there is no end in sight! There’s plenty of ground left to be covered with concrete in the next years! Many thanks go to all the guys that invested months of hard work & the Pilotto Skate Shop for supporting this project since day one!

Low Holly DIY – Nantes, France

Inspired by Pontus Alv’s concrete sculptures, the first part of this private mini-skatepark began in August 2010, based on night and rainy construction sessions on an rough unused slab of an old farm. It includes several walls, a tall bump, a grindable bank, 2 quarterpipes and a fun pool coping spine in the middle. A corner was just added in august 2012. Low Holy is a nice spot in the middle of nowhere in the northwest part of France, in the city of Nantes, which has already received a lot of visitors and some heavy sessions
