“Wild, that’s the word to describe the weekend of the Halloween Jam at Barbecue DIY, south of France. We were very lucky to be welcomed by Enzo, owner of this beautiful garden and maybe one of the nicest pools to skate in France. This event helped to finance the construction of the DIY.
For sure there was a lot of skateboarding but also some good live music, beers and food! Most of all we were just surrounded by great people from all around. Vans also presented their new documentary about DIY in France.
Barbecue DIY isn’t really easy to skate, however some people didn’t care about that. Noe Montagard skated the bowl like it was nothing… really impressive for his age. It seems like when you’re from Marseille, bowl and things like that have no secrets. Jeroen Bruggeman blew our minds all day long. Maybe he found the pool too easy at some point so he started to skate it with a cruiser without a problem. Everyone was awesome nevertheless we could all agree that Elliot Auffray should receive a prize for his style. Nothing could stop him, even losing a wheel while shredding the bowl.
It was wild! The night kept going like that for a while. It was really fun.
Thank you everyone. You made it! That was a perfect moment.” – Gabriel Renault
