“The bowls have been there since last year and already saw some good shredding, but if you get the right people together at one day, aka having the first contest, things get… different.
You see, old rippers suddenly having runs and tricks they never did here before, you see nine year olds pushing higher then ever and then you have guests who get all crazy. Let me name three: David, Jason and Toon. David had unbelievable stay on runs with like 30 tricks in them. Jason and Toon? The moment they decided to go for the doubles in the finals’ jam sessions, both, in the pool and in the bowl, were the moments everything got steamed up till it boiled. Giving us a well deserved last trick, Jason pulled a 540 melon grab transfer from the deep end to the middle section of the bowl, after kicking it all day. What a day! And the officials have been stoked as well. Greets from Bonn, see you this summer.” – Jo Hempel
