“The September Wheels summer tour has become a synonym for a great time with friends. This is why no less than 14 people met up in Helsinki last August to skate, eat, drink, sleep in tents and cross the Baltic sea. Somehow we managed to be in Finland for the hottest and sunniest week they had all summer, so we spent our days skating, swimming and sweating. I’m not going to take you through the week, day by day, but I recall a funny session in the rain that ended with the best group photo ever taken and a skatepark covered in beer, a perfect day down at the harbor and hours of pushing whilst unsuccessfully looking for a DIY park in the suburbs. We ended up having an intense session at a rough, random wallie spot in the middle of nowhere. What else? So Theis started off the trip with an insane drop-in at the airport, Nicolas made a new best friend, someone you meet at a club can apparently make you drive two hours to the north the next day, someone hardly ever slept in his own tent and can someone please go get more beers. Our days in Helsinki went by way too fast and before we knew it we were on a ferry to Tallinn. The day we arrived happened to be the day the Tallinn locals had a party at their DIY spot we hadn’t even heard about. There was a race through the park and our very own Etienne won the box of Estonian micro brews. We truly had a great time at this awesome spot, thanks! The locals took us with them to show us their city and some of us barely survived the Tallinn nightlife. Since we spent more time in Helsinki than we had planned, we had only half a day left to enjoy Riga, which is a shame because we passed by a couple of really amazing spots there. We got to skate so many insane spots in one week, met so many nice people and had such a good time, I wish we hadn’t been in such a rush to hop from city to city because every one of the three is worth at least a month’s visit.” – Marco Hofer
