There are many, many skateparks around Bilbao and La Kantera, not only are Las Arenas, Leioa or Sondika the only one places you can skate.
Barakaldo, Plentzia, Armintza, Gorliz, Urduliz, Aranzazu, and more are typical little spots you can go and skate with no people and have a lot of fun there.
Sometimes, like this time in Barakaldo, there is a jam.
The park is a little bowl, very fun with good lines and a creative flow area with some quarters and a fun box, everything is very little, but works perfect. I’m so happy about this park I designed and built around ten years ago. Zut skateparks still alive !!!
Javier, the man in charge of this jam, made this possible. He is the skater responsible for the Styling Shop, of one of the sponsors of the jam, jart and cityhall helped too.
Javier put on the music and the beers and barbeque for the skaters, and some awards for the kids, there needs to be no excuse to go and skate.
In the beginning, we had a heavy rain storm and nobody thought we could skate, but the rain lasted only half an hour, a heavy Basque country monsoon. When it finally stopped like a miracle, in another half an hour the surface was totally dry and riders madea really fun and powerful session…
Belaetxe, Quique, Sapi, Amayugo, Yago and many more were ripping!
It’s so nice see the ratnuts, a lot of young riders, destroy the bowl like men.
Abraham, El Burgo locals, and some girls from Santander, like Lucia and others destroyed it…” – Ortxustrops
