This is no fuck’n governmental indoor project, trying to promote the local skateboarding in Bilbao, Basque country….
The Kokoloko Bowl was built by the people at Gure Txoko skate school with the collaboration of the Zut Skateparks crew with pure recycled style. After some years with a little street course, they bid to build a closed bowl but the place is: little, narrow, and long.
Lovenskate crew from London visit the Gure Txoko Bowl on their “Bilbao 2013 tour”:
In the beginning of the design, there was no idea about what to do, just make a different bowl, so the main rule was “no rules” just to be able of continue the school activity.
But in this way they started killing off the street area and starting with a miniramp, growing it with different hips and non paralell anarchy copings and a wall ride, trying to find difficult forms to do and learn to conquer them, to finish it with two fast poisonous snake curves.
The place is inside, in an underground neighborhood which one day will have great real estate interests, so nobody knows, including Guretxoko people, when we are going to be kicked out of here. But for the moment they are there… and to be or not to beer…
