20 minutes South East from Cologne, Germany is the small town of Siegburg with a brand new Skatepark created by Matt Grabowski’s Minus-Ramps & Pools. Alf and Jan from Impakt Skateboards along with Jason Shrieves were the test dummies for the evening, testing out the transitions, speed roll-in, taco, metal coping, and hand crafted pool block on the slightly vert extension. The park is small in area but fairly gnarly and challenging to ride. Since I have a broken hand, I’ve been 99% photographer, 1% skateboarder lately, but I couldn’t resist testing out this gem for myself. The first few runs went A OK until a grind in the corner had me hanging up, instinctively tucking my busted hand, and taking it to the knee and cheek bone on the flat bottom. Excellent SOLID cement work here! This is a park that needs a few sessions to find the right lines, but they are there! An original design which won’t get boring anytime soon. Don’t be fooled, this park is gnarlier than it looks. – J. Hay
