Pavel Skateboards, OMSA (Old Mens Skateboard Association), Vans and Carhartt got together to put together a 2 day skate contest on 2 different bowls. The older Factory Bowl and the new steeper, gnarlier, pool-coping covered OMSA Bowl. Lots of sick skating went down over the weekend, hundreds of beers were drank, tricks were landed, tricks were bailed, and everyone seemed to have a good time. Skaters came in from England, Belgium, and all around Germany. A band was flown in from Japan and a local band from somewhere in Germany played, but we missed them. We had to go back to Köln and drink Whiskey with the Impakt Skateboards dudes and their girlfriends. We had so much fun Saturday night that Jason (another American transplant to Germany) and I were the only ones that actually made it back to the contest on Sunday. But…. we blew it and only caught the last 10 minutes (the Best Trick / BIG AIR contest). We almost should have just stayed in bed hungover with out girlfriends like the other dudes, but I still managed to get 2 photos from Day Two, so it was still worth the trip! Good times, good people, good skating.
* Check back in a few days and l should have a video edit of Part One of the contest. [If anyone knows the missing dudes names, leave a comment or email me info@confuzine.com] Danke. – J. Hay

dusseldorf…the factory….always it´s live
By far the best “backyard” pool that I’ve ever skated this side of the Atlantic!!! Great job to Dietsches, Donald and all who were involved in creating the ramp. I just wish I lived closer.
