“Rumble in the park is fun, this is the third year in a row I’ve come to Gmunden and I am happy to go there everytime. This year, the main reason to be there was the opening of the new concrete bowl built by Concrete Flow. The shape is fun, it is not easy to ride and to get speed, but it is a very good bowl! It was especially cool to see that most of the riders were riding the bowl for the first time. Everybody was trying to understand the bowl and I liked to follow the learning process of a few of them, like Dustin, Roman, Alban and David. The weather did not help but somehow, after some heavy rain, the bowl dried up pretty fast and we were able to enjoy the session. Dustin and David were almost at the same level and it was a difficult choice for the judges (I do agree with them though). Roman also got a well deserved third place.
The street session finals could not take place due to the rain and the results were based on qualification. Marco Kada, local skater, killed the course and deserved the victory.
Go to Gmunden and try the bowl out. When you are there, you can chill at Lake Traunsee, then you can visit Tyrol or go to to places like Vienna and Münich, all pretty close by.” – Nicola Debernardi

“I left from Italy on friday with my friend Martino Orso, after a quick stop in Wörgl to skate a bit and have a couple of beers, we then drove to Gmunden.
No gps navigation, it was pretty easy to get there. Right off the authobahn we pulled up at the FiveBoro Skateshop, than I was sure we were going the right way.
We arrived at the skatepark at the Sportplatz just in time for the last beer before the bar closed… fiuuu… and we helped a bit to set up the last big gazebo, the one that saved us the next day when it started to rain. I knew that it was gonna stop, but… you know… Austria… fresh big blond beers… actually I don’t remember how it goes all day long, but I filmed a lot, that’s for sure. It was hard this time to do the edit just cause I didn’t really remember what happned. Sometimes I was in front of the camera, and… wtf.
I was really curious to check the new pool anyway. Concrete Flow did a really good job in there. Everything turned into a real challenge building that bowl in the winter time in Austria.
Did you read the full article about the building of the Gmunden “pool” on Confuzine?… if not you should. And you should go there and have some fun, Michi Nadler is gonna be happy for sure! But if you are coming from Italy, remember to bring him some Grappa from Poli. Ohhh yesss, that was the perfect drink to close the night after the contest… after the official party at the club. Free brake dance contest, wallrides to backflip against the wall, climbing poles on the roof… yep, now I remember!!!
Thanks Nicola for driving the car in the night! You hero!! And thanks to all the people there, the locals, and the Nadler family to let us crash in your house. Cheeeeers.” – Sket
