“…what was important for me was to work with used materials as much as possible, to use things that we left – to leave and make an installation which has a double function… and with skateboard sculpture, is every time for me a kind of self play with things that i know, saw, skated and envisioned. The important part of skateboarding for me is to give things new meaning, to see and use something that is not made for it… exploring perception and body… first i play with many things that we know about – skateboarding and objects which are skateable, in simple ways… but to see the change of an object, meaning that people hang clothing and things on an “art piece” was giving new meaning to the work, new step interactions, breathing…” – Sergej Vutuc
“…like building an installation based on skateboarding… and see how people use it in a completely new direction… it reminded me of us – skaters how we use architecture for us… Exhibition was based on three works – one is photography which has to do with Painful Reminder subject. Second was works in space taking space in hand and give it new dimension and explore meaning of sculpture and objects for use (bar – house and DJ place)… and 3rd was one with skateboarding…. on opening for taking care of good vibes were the likes of DJ’s Hannes von Antipop, Cpt. Cracker, Frank Loth and DJ Germany. I made also a Helmut Vutuc Lampshade performance (all Helmut photos shoot by Christian Roth / Cpt. Cracker.)
Exhibition is till 8th of Feb. open /// Ludwigstr. 6. Giessen // Germany // www.facebook.com/Ludwigstrasse6
